Lower and higher scenarios vary the recovery rate or answer-rate improvement by 25%, bounded between 0% and 100% total coverage. Other assumptions stay fixed. These are scenarios, not confidence intervals.

How this is calculated

New completed sales = missed calls × sales-enquiry share × newly recovered share × booking rate × completion rate. Net benefit = recovered revenue × contribution margin − added answering cost. Monthly volumes use 52 ÷ 12 weeks; annual figures assume this scenario holds all year.

Revenue is not profit. Contribution deducts variable delivery costs; net benefit also deducts answering fees. First-year benefit deducts setup costs once. Fractional bookings represent expected averages. A zero service cost has no defined ROI; setup payback is not applicable when monthly benefit is zero or negative.

Estimates are illustrative, not guarantees. Annual estimates hold monthly assumptions constant. Calculations run in your browser; sharing puts the entered values in the link.

How it works

  1. Step 1

    Set your business metrics

Add missed calls per week, lead-to-customer rate, and average sale or appointment value.

  2. Step 2

    Adjust for seasonality

Model a higher or lower call-volume scenario with a multiplier, then set the share of sales enquiries you could newly recover.

  3. Step 3

    View lost revenue

See weekly, monthly, and annual estimates—and what capturing those calls could be worth.

Examples

  • Salon losing 15 calls a week during lunch rush
  • Plumber missing after-hours emergency requests
  • Medical office with hold times that hang up

Frequently asked questions

How do I calculate missed call revenue?

Multiply missed calls by your answer-to-booking rate and average customer value. Even conservative assumptions often show meaningful annual loss.

What percentage of callers won't leave voicemail?

Studies vary by industry, but many callers move on to the next provider if no one answers—especially for urgent or comparison shopping calls.
